La Course is a reality-style filmmaker challenge TV show. The idea is simple: Five teams of filmmakers fly from one mystery destination to the next and are judged on the quality of the three minute video they produce in just a handful of days. The show is hosted by internationally renowned journalist, François Bugingo.
Welcome Fiji provided production facilitation services in Fiji including: location scouting, location agreements, props and transportation for each of the five teams of filmmakers as well as the show’s own production team. The project was challenging, yet highly rewarding, as we provided full production support to 10 young filmmakers who new nothing about Fiji helping them film across the entire island of Viti Levu.
Comments from La Course Executive Producer Jim Edward
“What can I say about Nic's services in Fiji? Nothing but the ABSOLUTELY best possible shooting experience we've had yet.
He was organized, really pleasant to work with and had the right contacts at a moment's notice when things changed on our end. Nic is incredibly sensitive to the Fijian culture and their customs, and I can honestly say that he is very respected in this regard, and in the end, it opened up doors for us and our show.
We are a traveling TV series taking 10 contestants to direct documentaries in 9 countries around the world over a 12 week period. This being our second season, we are constantly looking for the best "fixers" around the world, and I can honestly say that Nic ranks in the top 3 we've had in the 12 countries we've filmed in since 2011.
Nic was voted "best local Producer " for the 2nd series by crew and cast.”
